Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting contract opportunity for Component Engineer 3 with our client located in Santa Clara, CA.
Job Description:
- Work closely with Supplier Engineers, Design, Manufacturing, and project teams to implement performance, quality, capacity, and cost improvements.
- Select the right process and suppliers for the part, considering long term fit and total cost of ownership.
- Source, select and qualify alternate component technologies and / or supplies, reducing cost and improving quality and reliability.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, streamlining of supply chain, and commodity strategy
- Acts as technical interface between component/production suppliers and development engineers, determining new and alternate sources.
- Drive to closure supplier variances from symptom through root cause analysis to corrective action, including succinct CAPA/SCAR documentation; Evaluate and qualify supplier requested material, design and process changes.
- Maintain key metrics for the team and suppliers, and continually drive for timely achievement of those metrics.
- Electrical or Electro-mechanical background preferable.
- Contract: 12 months
- Pay range: $65 - 72 /hr
- Location: Santa Clara, CA. (Onsite)
