- The essential responsibility of a Radiation Therapist is to ensure the safe and effective radiation treatment is performed for the patient under his/her care.
- The radiation therapist is a member of the Radiation Oncology care team and knows the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment and equipment.
- Communication among team members is vital to effective patient care. Toward this end, it is imperative that the radiation therapist actively and openly communicate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, medical dosimetrists, and nurses, among other members of the team.
- Completion of an Associate or Bachelor's Degree.
- Must have a Radiation Therapist License and Certificate.
- 1 year of experience required.
