ABOUT THE ROLE

The Communications Manager for Circle 31 Book Club plays a pivotal role in cultivating a community of women ready to grow in their faith, explore books that challenge their thinking, and have meaningful conversations. The Communications Manager is responsible for understanding and implementing the marketing plan with book club members and for spearheading the creation of compelling omnichannel content that resonates with our diverse audience. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent copywriting skills and a working knowledge of digital marketing trends. The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and drive engagement and growth for our online book club — all in support of the vision and mission of Proverbs 31 Ministries. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

  • Execute integrated marketing strategies to promote the book club, upcoming selections and exclusive events to increase member participation and retention.
  • In collaboration with the marketing team, monitor and analyze campaign performance, using insights to improve overall communication efforts.
  • Develop and produce engaging content for social media platforms in alignment with the overall Circle 31 marketing strategy.
  • Write high-quality content for various channels, including the website, emails and other digital platforms, ensuring all content is on-brand and consistent in tone.
  • Generate engaging and persuasive copy for promotion materials and member acquisition efforts, including but not limited to weekly encouraging messages, member discussion questions, live/recorded events, social media and other resources. 
  • Repurpose and optimize content for distribution across multiple digital channels, including social media, email and websites.
  • Implement strategies to increase member engagement and participation in online discussions and events, fostering a sense of community among members through creative and interactive content. 
  • Work with other teams to define communication goals, identifying new opportunities for growth and engagement within the Circle 31 Book Club community.
  • Communicate other P31 ministry initiatives and programs to Circle 31 Book Club members. 
  • Collaborate with marketing and content strategy teams to create communication for Circle 31 Book Club social media, promotions and announcements. 
  • Serve as the liaison between Circle 31 Book Club communications and other internal P31 teams (i.e., Marketing, IT, Theology, Pub Board, Production, Design and Social Media teams).
  • Work with publishing houses and/or authors to maximize Circle 31 Book Club content.
  • Work closely with the Circle 31 Book Club Community Manager to ensure that content speaks to the needs of the Circle 31 Book Club members and content is properly distributed. 
  • Strategically ensure the seamless implementation of tailored programming by thoroughly reviewing every book ahead of the designated Circle 31 Book Club launch.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Personal belief in the mission of Proverbs 31 Ministries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in marketing communications, content creation or a similar role.
  • Exceptional copywriting and editing skills, with a portfolio of previous work.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and tools, including social media, email marketing and SEO.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), marketing automation and social media platforms, project management tools, and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for books and a deep understanding of the literary community.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills, good attention to detail, and audience-oriented.
  • Strong sense of initiative, capable of independently driving projects forward while seamlessly integrating into a team setting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Working at a computer station and viewing a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Sitting or standing for prolonged periods, with opportunities for adjustments to ensure comfort and accessibility.
  • Operating a computer, including typing and using a mouse, as well as handling office supplies and documents.
  • Reading documents and observing project details. 
  • Understanding verbal communication in person, over the phone and in virtual meetings.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying light objects such as laptops, documents and presentation materials, typically weighing no more than 20 pounds.
