ResponsibilitiesWe are looking to hire an efficient scheduler for Providence Medical Center. This individual will ensure that patients are correctly scheduled for appointments and procedures. This individual needs to be good at multi-tasking, following up with patient concerns regarding schedules, and ensuring information is provided to staff and patients.
The scheduler’s responsibilities include rescheduling and canceling appointments, scheduling referral appointments, and verifying patient’s demographic information. You should also be able to ensure that sufficient time is allocated to each appointment and that all information is included to ensure the staff has what they need prior to the appointment.
To be successful as a scheduler, you should be helpful and courteous when answering telephone calls. Ultimately, an exceptional scheduler should be able to build and maintain a good rapport with referring physicians and staff.

QualificationsEducation and Work Experience
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).
- Knowledge of multiple insurance authorization requirements.
- 1-2 year previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Services experience required.
- Strong clerical and computer skills.
