Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. As a Medication Aide, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration of medications to residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Your role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to patients as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Follow proper medication administration procedures and protocols
- Document medication administration accurately and timely in medical records
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Assist with physical examinations and provide support to healthcare professionals as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as required
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized medication storage area
Skills:
- Knowledge of home care and assisted living regulations and procedures
- Familiarity with working with individuals with memory loss
- Understanding of acute care settings and the unique needs of patients in those environments
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to accurately document patient information
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to interpret medical records
