Summary:

Providence Presbyterian Preschool is an outreach ministry of Providence Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. The philosophy of our preschool is that children learn by doing. We create opportunities for many experiences that strengthen the child’s self-esteem and sense of self–worth and help prepare them for a life-long love of learning. We emphasize experience and process rather than product.

Part-time position:

• Our preschool operates 9:00 am – 12:30 pm Monday through Friday. Teachers work from 8:30 am- 1:00 pm.
• Our preschool is in session September through May.
• Our current openings are for substitutes for the 2023/24 school year.

Qualifications:

• Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, some experience working with children in an educational setting
• As required by our insurance and by the Presbytery, a criminal background check must be conducted. For this check certain personal information will be required. This information will be treated with the utmost confidence. (Background check is paid for by the preschool.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the age group team of teachers to plan daily activities that are in line with our play-based curriculum and left by the classroom teacher.
• Implement these plans within the classroom while creating a fun and nurturing environment
• Communicate the day with preschool families as well as coworkers/Preschool Director
• Care for the children, Create a safe and loving environment
• Work as a team with the preschool staff to accomplish any other necessary duties

Compensation

• $50/day.
• Part time: Approximately five hours per day
• Paychecks – Employees are paid once per month. Paychecks are available the last working day of the month. Direct deposit is available.
• Overtime – There are no overtime opportunities.
• Payroll Deductions - Medicare, FICA, state, and federal taxes are automatically deducted from each employee’s paycheck.
