Rhode Island’s premier boutique real estate investment firm is searching for an ambitious person that is a self-starter who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision to fill the role of Staff Accountant. The Company has a strong history of promoting from within and is looking to hire an individual that is on a growth trajectory in his/her career.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum 3 years professional experience including 2 years in public accounting (real estate experience is a plus)
Strong knowledge of accounting functions including but not limited to general ledger, trial balance, accounts receivable & accounts payable
Financial statement preparation experience
Professional & proficient written & verbal communication skills necessary
Proficient with Microsoft Office products & a high level of confidence working with new computer programs
Ability to work productively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, to work independently as well as part of a team, to multi-task, problem solve & work well under pressure
Adaptable, flexible & highly organized
Creative thinker, confident to share ideas with management
Job Description:
The Company is in search an accountant willing and able to handle day-to-day transactional activity across several of our investment platforms, including but not limited to our debt, rental real estate and development project portfolios. The position will also include other scheduled tasks such as accounts payable, bank reconciliations, performance metric reporting, year-end tax return backup preparation & financial report preparation among other accounting related responsibilities.
Hours: Monday through Friday. 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
This is an in-office position.
Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
