Providence Schools is Hiring a Summer - Pre-K Special Education Evaluation Team Physical Therapist Near Admin Special Education Pre K, RI
Location: Special Education Pre-K in Central Office AdministrationPre-K Special Education Evaluation Team Physical Therapist (up to 2 positions)Program Dates: July 1, 2024 - August 23, 2024Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm [Note: No work July 4th - Holiday]
Conduct evaluations of preschool aged students
Write and discuss comprehensive reports on completed evaluations
Attend special education meetings
Case Management
IEP writing
(½ hour break, and ½ hour lunch to be taken during the day)Contingent upon funding [contractual rate of pay]
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
School based experience preferred
License required by the RI Department of Health: Physical Therapist
Knowledge of RI Regulations Governing Students with Disabilities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of Implementation and analysis of District assessment tools
Knowledge of special education evaluation procedures, IEP and report writing, Powerschool
Collaborate with school, community and district level staff in continuously improving the academic, social emotional and functional achievement of students with disabilities.
Conduct student assessments that provide a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation of student strengths and needs
Interpret and analyze data assist staff with the implementation of response to Intervention framework
Collaborate with Early Intervention providers
Attend professional development and specified training to enhance skills
Work collaboratively with community and social service agencies to enhance student learning and transition to school
Manage files and input IEP and evaluation compliance information into the district’s computer management system
Monitor compliance and report any issues or concerns to the direct supervisor
Provide direct physical therapy services to students consistent with IEP requirements
Provide consultation to classroom teachers and staff and needed and required by IEPs
Provide written reports on services provided and/or progress notes as required by the special education office
Willingness to work as an itinerant to cover all components of this assignment
Willingness to work with families of walk-in students on carry-over activities for the home setting and scheduling of therapy sessions
Willingness to complete home instruction for PT services
Documentation of services for Medicaid purposes
Scheduling of physical therapy evaluations
Completion of written physical therapy evaluations
Any and all other duties as assigned by pre-k special education manager/administrator

Physical therapy evaluations for summer team
Pre-K/Elementary/High School levels
A minimum of 5 years of highly successful classroom teaching and evaluation experience in special education required.
