Providence Schools is Hiring a Summer - Pre-K Special Education Evaluation Team School Psychologist Near Admin Special Education Pre K, RI
Location: Special Education Pre-K in Central Office AdministrationPre-K Special Education Evaluation Team School Psychologist (up to 6 positions)Program Dates: July 1, 2024 - August 23, 2024Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:00 am - 2:30 pm [Note: No work July 4th - Holiday](½ hour lunch and ½ hour unassigned period) Under direction of the Pre-K Special Education Manager, Executive Director of Special Education and Executive Director of Student Support Services the school Psychologist will provide services to pre-k students who require testing and psychological or educational testing for pre-k students’ Individual Educational Program (IEP). Contingent upon enrollment and funding [contractual rate – daily rate of pay] Certificate required by the State Department of Education Current Rhode Island Teacher Certificate(s) in appropriate subject area RIDE Requirements PK-12 Psychology CAGS/BCBA (For Psychologist) ESL Preferred
Masters or equivalency in Psychology
Ability to screen, evaluate, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders of students
Ability to develop and implement appropriate goals and objectives for each individual student and to select and utilize therapeutic materials effectively with individuals and small groups of students
Working Knowledge of Social Perspective Taking, Zones of Regulation, 5 Point Scale, Theory of Mind, Social Thinking, Expected/Unexpected Behaviors and Size of the Problem
Experience with administration of WPSSI-3, Mullen Scales, CARS-2, Ortiz Model, WISC-5, Behavior rating scales (inclusive of autism ratings)
Individuals with certification AND experience in areas corresponding to case load needs
Working knowledge of Skyward and PowerSchool for documentation of evaluations, eligibility, and IEP placements
Provide written reports on services provided and/or progress notes as required by the Office of Specialized Instruction and Services
Documentation of services for Medicaid purposes
Provide written reports on services provided and/or progress notes as required by the Office of Specialized Instruction and Services

Ability to work together as a team to determine testing and meeting needs
The team works toward completion of elementary and secondary cases
All team members will work on completing evaluations
File review to insure appropriate permission has been obtained for completion of evaluations
Contacting parents (phone calls and letters) to schedule evaluation sessions
Documentation of all attempts to contact families and results of that contact
Completion of formalized testing in area of certification and writing corresponding evaluations
Completion of documentation required for eligibility, inclusive of prior written notice of eligibility
Weekly submission of timesheets, activity logs, and completed files
Input of all necessary documentation in Skyward and PowerSchool
Must commit to work all of the days indicated in the posting
Any/all related duties that may be assigned by Manager of Special Education and Services and/or Executive Director of Special Education
Good communication and human relations skills needed in order to implement consultative program with classroom teachers and parents
Formulate concise clinical reports and maintain complete longitudinal records on each student served
Demonstrated proficiency with PC-based computer applications, Microsoft Office applications, email, web applications, and industry specific technology
