Job Title: AssistantClinical Director

Department: Provider Prevention and Support Services

Reports To: Clinical Director

Reports: N/A

FLSA Status: Fulltime (Exempt)

Job Description

The assistant clinical director is a mental health professional who provides full-time guidance and support to the Provider Support clinical team and services area in accordance with the START Model. The assistant clinical director is responsible for coordinating training and review of clinical documentation for the Provider Support team. This position requires regular travel throughout the state of Iowa.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

·Must be capable of regular and predictable attendance at specific locations throughout the state of Iowa.

·Assist the clinical director with any identified area of support.

·Review clinical documentation and provide clinical feedback and support.

·May assist in coordinating and conducting all community-based training.

·Responsible for all certification-related education and monitoring. This includes but is not limited to:

oOnboarding of all new employees

oMaintaining and monitoring all certification needs

oProviding ongoing training and education to all employees

oMonitoring, educating, and facilitating any START-related training.

·Responsible for monitoring, assigning, and/facilitating all training needs for all departments within Elevate.

oMonitoring the completion of all training required in all departments for Elevate employees.

oAssigning, through the use of reminders and direct connection with employees, the need to complete training.

oFacilitate identifying a person to conduct training, locating an acceptable online training, and/or conducting training to meet program specific needs.

·Responsible for the ongoing monitoring and maintenance of all clinical needs and policies

·Facilitate as well as actively participate in persons served specific meetings.

·Enter, monitor, and ensure data entry for all team members in the identified tracking platforms.

·Actively participate in the ongoing education provided by the National Center for START Services.

·Attend, participate, complete, and maintain the Center for START Services Coordinator Certification

·Provide clinical administrative support to all team members through a rotational on-call system.

·Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or other human services field with 2 years experience working with people with IDD and mental health and/or challenging behavior needs.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or other human services field with 4 years experience working with people with IDD and mental health and/or challenging behavior needs.

Prior experience as a START Coordinator is preferred.

START Certification is preferred or START Certification is required within 6 months of hiring.

Experience with systems work; specifically, with families, physicians, and ID/MI services providers

Ability to maintain high interpersonal skills and establish good working relationships internally and with outside agencies and providers.

Requires independent and organization skills as well as acceptance of feedback

Must be self-motivated and ability to maintain productivity while working remotely

Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional work demeanor.

Must possess a valid Iowa driver’s license and be insurable under Elevate’s guidelines.
