The primary purpose of the Medical Receptionist is to bring more accuracy and organization. This position helps with increased provider productivity, patient satisfaction, and a more efficient workflow.

Job Responsibilities:

• Greet visitors, ascertain the purpose of the visit, and direct them to the appropriate staff or department.
• Assess method of payment for services, initiate processing, and may refer to a specialist for financial options.
• Requests identification to properly register the patient for services.
• Uses available resources to determine patient account status.
• Distributes various forms such as patient rights, medical releases, and insurance.
• Practices proper cash handling and reconciliation processes in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
• Additional duties include collecting copayments, answering phones, assisting family members, and conducting research for prior medical records and account folders
