Who You Are

Prowess Consulting is looking for a Software Test Engineer to implement, and document testing activities, including test planning, test documentation, test execution, defect tracking and reporting, including follow-up and issue resolution. This is a manual testing project following test plans and documenting results in Excel or Azure Dev Ops.

This is a full-time role that can be worked remotely from one of the states listed below; however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential. No third-party agencies, please.

To be considered for this role, you must reside in the greater Seattle area. This is mainly a remote position, however you may be asked to go on site for a meeting on an as-needed basis.

The Role

• Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures.
• Test system modifications to prepare for implementation.
• Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, or usability.
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers.
• Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content.
• Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes.
• Create or maintain databases of known test defects.
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• Must have experience using and be familiar with the Windows operating system.
• Experience with Azure Dev Ops desirable.
• Experience testing web properties and software.
• Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts, and test results reports.
• 5-7 years’ experience required.
• Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing.
• Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone

Additional Details

• The offered base pay range for this position is $50,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on geographic location and experience. Note that base pay ranges may vary for different work locations within the US, which allows for competitive pay and consistency in different states.
• Full-time employees (defined as working 30 hours or more per week) within the US have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, a 401K plan with matching, well-being benefits, education benefits, and other benefits.
• Full-time employees based in the US receive 11 paid holidays per year, in addition to accruing paid time off based on tenure.
