QA/QC job duties and description:

 Quality assurance and quality control - Ensuring that we standardize how, 5 Stars Roofing has roof builds, utilizing multiple subcontractors and crews are being built. QA/QC will bridge any gaps between the PM's and Roofing Crew/Leads. QA/QC will ensure that the MFG specifications are followed and MFG can honor warranties that our homeowners deserve. Code requirements (state and city municipalities) are met or exceeded through the IRC or IBC.

 QA/QC will also deal with or handle warranty leak calls and homeowners that may have concerns about the workmanship on their property. QA/QC will try to anticipate that such as the ROC and will get ahead of any issues that we can determine in advance of an ROC complaint. Then writing a directive on for said contractor to fix. Take and hold a non-bias position and utilize better judgement when securing the confidence of the homeowner and fixing things if needed, in a timely, professional, and budget friendly manner(s). Most warranty leaks are determined by the way of water-testing and attempting to induce leaks by water testing with a two-person party. This usually takes place with one applicator and one spotter on the interior of the house. All QA/QC parties have Thermal cameras to check if water has entered the home prior to complete saturation, creating more damage to the home.

 Writing reports, and labor tickets for what needs to be fixed or repaired. QA/QC should have a multitude of working and product knowledge on most roofing systems. Reports are for our CRM Acculynx records and documentation. If what is reported isn't documented, "it" never happened’. Being able to communicate through labor tickets with clear direction with proper products, and applications is key.

 Client interaction is needed with QA/QC. The QA/QC will need to diffuse the situation in a clear and professional manner. Common practices will be not to get emotional, stick with the facts, speak softly and clearly, and be solution oriented. This helps to deescalate homeowners who may be upset with workmanship issues. Remember their home is usually their largest investment as well as their “safe place”.
