Clean Utility Technician - Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical

About the Role

As the Clean Utility Technician you will support the operations and execution of service to all clean and dirty utility services supporting a 24 / 7 pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.

This role is responsible for effective and efficient service delivery, calibrations, and troubleshooting to minimize customer business interruptions.

your responsibilities will include :

  • Provide on-site support for all utility systems to ensure reliable operations for the customer.
  • Communicate with clients and facility occupants to ensure customer satisfaction and enhance the critical utilities system supporting all processes and operations.
  • Manage and host on-site activities of sub-contractors performing clean utility preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Be available on-call 24 / 7 to provide telephone assistance or emergency response to the facility.
  • Ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal license and certification requirements. Maintain and submit all records and documents to proper authorities for audit purposes.
  • Review all work to ensure performance aligns with OEM design specifications and established safety procedures.
  • Participate in scheduling meetings with operational partners and customers to finalize priority of work orders, determine optimum downtime windows, and establish necessary lead times.
  • Collaborate with customers to determine resource availability and level workforce schedules as required.
  • Maintain accurate metrics on the performance of maintenance tasks and provide timely reports to the Site Manager.
  • Operate within the Maximo qualified CMMS system and provide necessary documentation.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience

  • HSD / GED or equivalent
  • Technical education with 7 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of WFI systems (Water for Injection), USP Systems, Clean Steam Systems, Clean Air Systems, Waste Neutralization Operations, Dirty Utilities, PCA Air, and Instrumentation Calibration

Communication Skills

  • Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and / or supervisors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Reasoning Ability

  • Requires knowledge of technical terms and principles and the ability to conduct analysis and prepare reports.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings.
  • Ability to manage or work with client project teams and ensure project progression to completion.

Additional Abilities

  • Ability to direct the work of specialized OEM vendors.
  • High-level technical knowledge and skill to accurately assign and complete jobs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes, proper use of work order systems, planning, scheduling, and stockroom processes.
