Baton Rouge, LA PSC Group LLC has an exciting new growth opportunity located in Baton Rouge, LA. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual seeking a Senior Accountant role in a family-oriented company that is growing tremendously. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial analysis functions of the company in addition to being hands on with general ledger duties. This position will involve collaborating with various departments to analyze financial data, complete general ledger entries and financial accounting functions, prepare budgets, forecast future financial performance, and provide strategic insights to support decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of experience in both accounting and financial analysis, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to stakeholders.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30 AM to 4:00 PM / 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM / 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM) with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Participates in the month-end close process by preparing adjusting and recurring journal entries and analyzing the general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of records.
- Reconciles Balance Sheet accounts and research differences.
- Prepares financial statements, reports, and presentations for management and board of directors.
- Analyze financial statements for trends and variances against prior periods, budgets, and forecasts and report findings to management. Provide insightful commentary on variances and trends, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
- Works with department heads to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Provide exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers.
- Remains current in accounting principles to ensure continuous improvement of procedures for optimal departmental performance and accuracy.
- Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Support special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA is a plus.
- Five plus (5 ) years experience in accounting and financial analysis, preferably in an industrial services or related industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience in NetSuite and/or Onestream a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint).
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Ability to analyze data and problem solve.
- High attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain highly confidential nature of information and data.
