Our 10-week Americas Summer Internship Program offers students an immersive learning experience with hands on work in areas across the organization. Interning with PTC provides students with the opportunity to work on high-visibility and high impact projects. This program begins June 5, 2023 and concludes August 11, 2023.

Your Impact:

We are looking for opinionated people with mechanical or manufacturing backgrounds that can act similar to a junior engineer and bring their own opinions and experience to improving the quality of Onshape. 

Your Team:

The goal is to have interns integrate in with the team and essentially be peers by the end of the internship. They will pair up with a mentor and go through the process of how bugs are found and written, how prioritization of fixes are set, technical skills that are needed to triage issues further, etc. After a period, they will be given their own functionalities to test, validate, and influence with the goal of making features that are useful for our customers and are deployed seamlessly to the end user. They will also be responsible of working with support for any future issues that come up with their functionality to best explain paths forward for the customer.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Test new functionality to find areas of weakness (either in the code or the design)

• Validate fixed bugs

• Build a release plan for functionalities so that they can be released seamlessly and without interruption

• Offer to support and work collaboratively with the team for any issues that arise

Basic Qualifications:

• Understanding of mechanical or manufacturing processes. Knowledge of CAD is a plus.

• Interest or understanding of web technologies is beneficial. Being able to understand asynchronous and RESTful data. Being able to read and follow code if not able to write it.

• Highly opinionated.
