PTS Advance is Hiring a Project Manager Near Richmond, VA

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: 12-month contract to hire

Hourly rate: $55-80

The Project Manager will lead and motivate a team in the management of project safety, quality, scheduling, cost control, contracts, risk management, suppliers, proposals, estimates, documentation turnover, client relations, field staff, and other necessary duties. This role involves leading projects from inception to completion, potentially acting as an EPC Project Manager or Program Manager, and providing guidance to others as required by specific projects. The Project Manager is responsible for the overall execution and successful completion of projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance on all aspects of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion, including safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, environmental compliance, project controls, and public/community relations.
  • Establish project teams, coordinate activities across multiple disciplines, and ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
  • Manage all aspects of project communication.
  • Lead the development of RFP packages, the bid and selection process, and scope of work documents.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control project costs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing client coordination, strategic planning, master scope management, budgeting, subcontracting, project staffing, environmental compliance, facility support, and schedule attainment.
  • Oversee the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Lead internal and external project risk reviews, consulting with the Risk Department as necessary.
  • Manage and approve reports, providing detailed project cost forecasts and accruals.
  • Oversee project controls efforts, including cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structure establishment, project setup, and closeout within the accounting system, and field progress tracking.
  • Monitor project progress, providing input and direction to enhance schedule achievement, productivity, budgets, quality, and profitability.
  • Manage contract closeout activities.
  • Generate new business revenue by developing new client relationships or leveraging existing ones.
  • Adhere to safety programs, trainings, and policies, promoting and managing the safety and health performance of project team members and subcontractors.
  • Participate in and attend industry conferences and/or committees.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff.
  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC processes and company/site safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, with at least 7 years of applicable experience.
  • Prior experience on construction project sites or in program management within industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment, and work overtime on short notice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary project team to resolve issues and accomplish objectives.
  • Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control, and project management software.
