ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Legal & Compliance Coordinator will provide support to the General Counsel and Executive Team while managing an array of tasks, from spearheading special projects (e.g., license packet submissions for state approval, applications during RFAs, etc.) to general organizational tasks, such as contract organization and management and license renewals. The Legal & Compliance Coordinator must be able to juggle multiple projects at once, in addition to day-to-day tasks such as contract management, vendor management (as needed), and other administrative functions. This role requires a high level of organization and communication. Above all, this individual will be responsible for helping to make PTS Corp. a great place to work, and an employer of choice for the cannabis industry.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Preparing legal correspondence and other documents for the General Counsel. 
  • Organizing and maintaining documents in paper and electronic filing systems. 
  • Organizing and managing projects on certain electronic/online platforms;
  • Investigating facts and laws of cases and searching public records and other resources to determine causes of action or prepare for negotiation. 
  • Form business entities.
  • Act as a point of contact among executives, employees, and external partners. 
  • Manage executives’ calendars and set up meetings. 
  • Format information for internal and external communication – memos, emails, presentations, reports. 
  • Review and opine on regulations/regulatory changes
  • Internal Structure: document creation, process creation, project management, SOPs;
  • General administrative-related responsibilities, tasks, and special projects as they relate to the needs of the Legal &Compliance Department.
  • Stays up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • Special projects, as assigned.
  • Prepare and maintain company documents and reports.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

MUST HAVES:

Education and Experience:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older;
  • Must be able to obtain a Cannabis Agent card from IDFPR/DOA;
  • Associates degree, or related field.
  • Strong understanding or experience in the cannabis industry or other highly regulated industries – 2 years preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Trustworthy - high morals and values; 
  • Exceptionally organized, strong ability to multi-task, and can easily identify efficiencies;
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator - internally and externally;
  • Ability to interpret, prepare, organize, and disseminate documentation and information for projects to internal & external teams;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite, PowerPoint, adobe, etc.;
  • Good presentation skills - digital and verbal;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees;
  • Positive, proactive attitude that reflects the many hats worn by all employees at PTS Corp.;
  • Knack for performing under pressure, is flexible and adaptable; 
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn additional software programs.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Technologically savvy;
  • Experience with contract management or workflow project platforms;
  • Experience developing standard operating procedures;
  • Experience with various data management platforms (Dropbox, SharePoint, One Drive, terminal server, etc.);
  • Experience developing department and company-wide programs;
  • Experience managing short-term and long-term projects in collaboration with other departments.
  • Experience with compliance or in a highly regulated industry
  • Experience reviewing and understanding statutes, laws, and regulations
