Position Summary

We are looking for a proactive, motivated, solution-oriented manager to play a key role in strengthening our organizational effectiveness. The Project Manager is responsible for providing project management and operations support to Rise Up's Deputy Director and Operations Director. They will develop project plans, track project implementation, create and document systems, serve as point of contact for internal systems, and may research and compile special reports.

This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Project Manager is expected to work in-person at a co-working facility at least twice a month and the remaining time remotely.

This time-limited position is expected to end on June 30, 2025. This position can be full-time (40 hours/week, 100% FTE) or part-time (at least 20 hours/week, 50% FTE). The FTE will be determined upon hire.

Full salary range for this position: $75,732 to $109,873 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $75,732 (minimum) to $92,803 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support Deputy and Operations Directors toensure RU polices are up-to-date and aligned with PHI. (i.e. Travel Policy, Child Protection, Data Security,etc.)
  • Support policy implementation and improvement by socializing policies with the team, assessing success, and integrating team feedback.
  • Review vendors/service providers quotes, proposals, invoices, and financial document/information for accuracy to guide decisions and exercise relationship management.
  • Actively manage vendors and service providers for RU (i.e., travel and IT), negotiate terms, and make recommendations on term adjustments as necessary.
  • Support Deputy and Operations Directors to document legal, internal risk assessment, due diligence and compliance processes making sure that they are aligned with PHI andin compliance with US and International laws.
  • Support Operations Director and Associate Director of Programs tosource and manage non-US Employers of Record (EORs) to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones for operational projects, considering resource constraints, risks, and dependencies.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and local partners to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Five years of experience managing international operations.
  • Five years of experience managing service providers and vendors relationship management.
  • Bachelor's degree, or substitute with four additional years of relevant experience.
Other Qualifications
  • Five years' experience working in an international non-profit organization is preferred.
  • Experience in legal, compliance, and non-profit governance is preferred.
  • Experience in risk assessment, safety & security is preferred.
  • Skills in personnel supervision.
  • Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures.
  • Ability to learn, interpret, and apply a wide variety of policies and procedures relating to and impacting the assigned programs.
  • Ability to analyze data and make accurate projections using business analytics.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and plan work and projects, including handling multiple priorities.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the work group and serve as a liaison for assigned programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Adaptable communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office-based computer programs and proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Prince2, PMP).
  • Ability to be highly self-motivated with strong verbal, research and writing skills.
  • Ability to work mostly remotely and attend in-person meetings as required.
