Position Summary

Cypress Resilience Project is a program at Public Health Institute that focuses on community-based trainings in Mental Health First Aid certification, trauma informed practices and grief recovery.

Founded in 2019, the team provides trainings to varied partners including but not limited to : health professionals, educators, community-based organizations, corporate clients, and public health agencies.

Cypress is currently in a growth phase and looking to expand its services and team.

The Program & Training Coordinator will provide training, administrative, and programmatic support for Cypress Resilience Project.

This position will report directly to the Deputy Director.

This is a hybrid (remote and in-person) position that will require availability to conduct trainings using online platforms and in person.

This is a regular part-time, up to 0.475 FTE (up to 19 hours / week), position that is expected to work in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.

The individual hired for this job must reside within a 50-mile radius of Oakland, CA, and be available to work onsite as required.

Full pay range for this position : $23.06 to $32.12 per hour. The typical hiring range for this position is from $23.06 (minimum) to $27.

59 (midpoint) per hour. The starting wage is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Teach and co-teach Adult Mental Health First Aid classes as needed, in alignment with the Cypress Resilience Project brand and style :
  • Report attendance and track participant engagement during classes.
  • Distribute survey and evaluation documents and links to participants.
  • Track and maintain training participant data and survey responses.
  • Aggregate training evaluation data for clients and funders as needed, including contributing data for reports.
  • Collaborate with communications team on monthly Cypress e-newsletter, website updates, and social media outreach.
  • Attend Cypress Team Meetings as necessary, including MHFA instructor meetings to discuss best practices and participant feedback.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year of related experience.
  • High School Diploma.

Other Qualifications

  • Available to teach MHFA courses in a 6-hour block and in a split course format across 2 days (3 hours each day) during regular business hours.
  • Available on an established schedule as coordinated with the Cypress training team.
  • Must be a certified Adult Mental Health First Aid Instructor or willing to be trained AND can be certified as an MHFA Instructor with the National Council for Mental Wellbeing within 30 days of hire.

Must be able to attend the multiple-day training and meet certification requirements as scheduled.

  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Google Suite, and other online platforms.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience collaborating on a team working toward articulated group norms and goals.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with a focus on mutuality, transparency, kindness, and respect for all team members.
  • Ability to serve diverse populations with respect and culturally responsive practices.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid work model of working remotely and in person as required.
  • Multi-lingual skills preferred but not required.
