Position Function: Responsible for assisting in the direct implementation of the Agency and Cottage programs. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the Residents in accordance with the goals of the individual treatment plan. Education/Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma (or equivalency) and one year of direct care experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside and proof of car insurance.
Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral modification systems and child development

Must pass CPR and First Aid Training.
Must pass Safe and Positive Training.
Responsible for timely, periodic submission of all required clearances and physicals.
Attend and participate in scheduled meeting and training sessions.
Communicate with the team and supportive services in a professional manner.
Meet the Agency and regulatory group standards on written reports to include, but not limited to:
Critical Incident Reports
Progress Notes
Daily Logs
Elopement/AWOL
Intervention Log
Child Care Reports
Implementation of Cottage standards of behavior and discipline for Residents.
Responsibility to execute appropriate crisis intervention and physical restraint techniques.
Awareness of all emergency procedures, safety and health standards, and apply skills to meet the needs of our Residents.
Adhere to the Agency’s policies on children/families’ rights, confidentiality, and cultural competence.
Meet the Agency standards for distribution of medication.
Participate in Cottage and Agency programs:
Clothing hygiene
Chores
Nutrition, etc.
Responsibility to meet all housekeeping standards in the Cottage.
Responsible for Cottage wake-up and daytime procedures.
Develop, improve, and employ group and individual counseling and management skills to meet the needs of the Residents.
Provide transportation for medical, school and cottage need as assigned by the Cottage Manager or Associate Director Residential Care.
Provide supervision for any resident not in an educational program.
Training Requirements:
All new hires are required to go through mandated orientation.
Comply with Agency Annual Training requirements.

Maintenance of composure in crisis with youth
Ability to restrain youth physically and in accordance with accepted Agency guidelines.
