Position Summary

The Senior Manager (SM) of Training is part of the Content and Knowledge Management Team, and Family Services Division. The team's mission is to increase the capacity for relational health, which empowers families and communities to thrive, by creating and implementing researchand practice-informed experiences, resources, and tools.

The Senior Manager of Training oversees the recruitment, development, and enhancement of trainers and coaches who equip company and project staff to deliver group-based social service programs. The Senior Manager of Training will design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive training programs, aligning them with organizational and project-based goals and objectives. This individual will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence across service programs.

This position requires demonstrated leadership and keen organizational and change management skills, an unwavering commitment to excellence, the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, and the proven ability to motivate teams to excel in training others. Training content areas include but are not limited to behavioral economics, executive function, motivational interviewing, goal attainment, family-centered coaching, hope navigation, employment and workforce development, and family-strengthening programs and services.

Specific work functions include overseeing and monitoring training implementation, budgets, staffing, resource utilization, and engaging and managing clients and subcontractors. This position leads the Training and Facilitation Team, which consists of training staff who report to supervisors in their program areas within the company structure.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and implement strategic training plans and initiatives to address training needs and goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment, mentoring, and management of trainers and coaches.
  • Develop a protocol and tools for hiring, training, and developing trainers, facilitators, and coaches.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs and materials for programs utilizing diverse training methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with department heads and subject matter experts to identify training needs and prioritize learning objectives.
  • Build and manage collaboration among program supervisors, including a coordinated strategy, quality data practices, and consistency in training and coaching tools across programs.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of training content, including manuals, presentations, e-learning modules, and other resources.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback mechanisms, and key performance indicators, making necessary adjustments for continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging training and group facilitation technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all training activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external training vendors, consultants, and educational institutions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Applicable fields and disciplines include speech and communication studies, social sciences, humanities, education, not-for-profit management, and related fields.
  • Professional certifications in training and development are a plus.

Experience

  • Proven experience (minimum five years) in designing, delivering, and managing training programs in a corporate or non-profit environment.

  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), e-learning authoring tools, and other training technologies.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to travel to different locations across the state as required.
