We're looking for... A dynamic and visionary leader to take the reins of our marketing team and steer Puffin Drinkwear to new heights. As the Marketing Director, you will be the strategic marketing mastermind behind our brand’s growth. Achieved by driving innovative marketing campaigns, and fostering a vibrant community. As our new Marketing Director... You will champion Puffin’s brand values and lead the marketing team to execute compelling strategies that enhance brand recognition, sell-through in retail and online, and engagement. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be responsible for overseeing all marketing functions and teammates. This includes managing staff and partners, content creation, digital marketing, social media, retail marketing initiatives, and influencer partnerships. Your participation on the Puffin Leadership Team (“PLT”) will be key in driving cross-functional initiatives and supporting Puffin’s Good Together causes.

In a typical quarter you will...

- Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive marketing strategy that aligns with Puffin’s brand vision and business goals.

- Lead the creation and maintenance of a content calendar that drives engagement at retail and across social media, email campaigns, and other marketing channels.

- Collaborate with the marketing team to produce high-quality multimedia content (photo/video/print) that defines the Puffin brand in the market.

- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, using data to refine strategies & maximize ROI.

- Engage with influencers and community partners to amplify Puffin’s reach and impact.

- Participate in strategic planning sessions to align marketing efforts with overall company objectives: growing wholesale and bringing the brand to life.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and own the overall multi-year marketing strategy and operating plans to drive brand awareness, customer acquisition/retention, and business growth (with a focus on wholesale channel).

· Develop and measure key performance indicators (KPIs), frameworks, and targets to track marketing campaign performance, ROI, and revenue growth.

· Oversee full-funnel marketing efforts spanning brand building, creative development, content marketing, digital/social media, influencer programs, retail marketing, email campaigns, and more.

· Establish audience segmentation, brand positioning/messaging, and unified channel strategy to maximize impact across existing and new (adjacent) channels.

· Analyze brand health, market trends, consumer insights, and performance data to optimize strategy and investment.

· Effectively articulate the Puffin brand story and value proposition through compelling, integrated campaign narratives.

· Forecast needs, allocate budget and resources, and manage agency/vendor relationships to deliver innovative, cost-effective marketing.

· Attract, mentor and inspire a high-performing, cross-functional marketing organization embodying Puffin's culture.

· Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and other teams, providing marketing expertise to cross-functional initiatives.

· Ensure brand consistency and elevate Puffin as a beloved, inclusive brand bringing people together through fun.

Supervisory Responsibility:

· Marketing Coordinator (As the Director, you’ll play a role in defining and hiring this role)

Intra/Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

· Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective workflow.

· Contribute to cross-functional teams to achieve strategic priorities.

· Advance the company's DEI goals through collaborative efforts.

Qualifications and Skills:

· 8 years marketing leadership experience ideally with consumer brands, with proven success driving strategic vision and delivering impactful, integrated marketing campaigns including content, digital, product marketing, and marketing analytics.

· Expertise in brand building, consumer segmentation/insights, creative strategy, content marketing, digital/social, and performance marketing.

· Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities to develop inspiring brand narratives that deeply connect with audiences.

· Strong creative direction skills with ability to produce buzz-worthy, culturally relevant brand campaigns Data-driven approach utilizing market/consumer insights to drive decision-making and measure/optimize marketing performance .

· Deep understanding of digital marketing, customer segmentation, and consumer insight and associated ability to apply techniques over digital and non-digital channels.

· Innovative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

· Excellent team leadership, coaching, and talent development skills to attract and grow high-caliber marketing teams.

· Collaborative mindset and ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships.

· No specific degree requirements, we want anyone who can perform at a high level

· Bonus: Omni-channel experience including managing / maintaining and supporting eComm channel (Shopify store, Amazon).
