Job Summary

As a Communication Strategist within the Office of Enrollment Management Strategic Communications and Initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our campus's communication landscape and driving the success of our student recruitment efforts. Your innovative approach and strategic mindset will be essential in positioning our institution as a top choice for prospective students, driving enrollment growth, and advancing our mission of accessible education.
To be successful, the candidate will need to execute various communications functions with a focus on digital communications, websites, and higher education platforms. This position will establish goals and take the lead on significant, moderately challenging projects or tasks with oversight from the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications. You will identify key messaging, audience segmentation, and channel optimization to effectively engage prospective students and stakeholders alike, while also fostering positive relationships with vendors and campus partners.

What we Are Looking For:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Three years’ experience in one or more of the following: marketing management, strategic planning, content creation, administering and executing a marketing/communications plan.
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Deep understanding and interest in higher education with a focus on new student recruitment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven track record for creative concepting and iteration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, often under tight deadlines.

Skills:

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management.
  • Consistent quality control in work.
  • Ability to follow and advise on brand guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with external and internal constituents.
  • Skilled in developing short and long-term projects to nurture a collaborative and learning mindset in the community.
  • Leverage web insights to improve content and strategy for community resources on the Enrollment Management site.
  • Produce content to share critical insights, industry trends, and recruitment best practices.

Preferred:

  • Strong understanding of recruitment marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt style of copy to various audiences, purposes, or media.
  • Competency in concepting and presenting creative work.
  • Experience reviewing and advising on communications plans with partners or clients.
  • Experience working within a CRM system.
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite apps.
  • Experience using Content Management Systems such as Cascade and WordPress.
  • Proficient in AP Style.

FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible for Overtime)
