PursueCare is Hiring a Remote Lead Counselor

As a Lead Counselor specializing in Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and mental health, you will play a pivotal role within our care team, delivering a full spectrum of supportive services to patients, emphasizing harm reduction, sustained recovery, and continuity of care. Additionally, you will oversee the admission documentation for the admissions counselor team.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Oversee patient care responsibilities while supervising the admission counselor team.
  • Conduct telehealth counseling sessions for SUD and/or mental health disorders using PursueCare’s platform and EHR system, dedicating a minimum of 75% of your time to this task.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, operations staff, partnering providers, and referral sources to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Conduct documentation reviews for designated Admissions Counselors, including approving the biopsychosocial assessments/diagnostic interviews and treatment plans.
    • Supervision encompasses both synchronous methods (video and/or phone sessions) and asynchronous methods (email, slack).
  • Support therapy provider education and onboarding, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Master’s level degree or above, with a current independent license to practice (LCSW, LPCC, PhD, PsyD).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology for telehealth counseling.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in substance use treatment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications & Key Competencies:

  • Maintain a valid unrestricted license to practice in the state(s) agreed upon at hire, or other states directed by PursueCare.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering effective collaboration within interdisciplinary teams.
