Responsibilities
- Prepare complex legal documents and reports, such as routine notices, affidavits, memoes, and correspondence
- Onboard, train, and develop paralegals and legal assistants
- Provide ongoing guidance and support to paralegals and legal assistants, with targeted focus on KPIs
- Conduct file audits to ensure compliance of best practices, protocols, and SOPs
- Collaborate with leadership team to accomplish operational and performance goals
- Assuming role as primary paralegal for vacant dockets as needed
- Lead effective team meetings, in-person and virtual
- Perform complex legal research and investigation, and review documents for privilege
Experience
- Minimum 3 years work experience as a litigation paralegal, with at least 2 years specifically in Personal Injury
- Proficient in local and federal court procedures
- Trial experience (preferred) - Prior experience in leadership positions (preferred)
- Assist with preparing attorneys and witnesses for depositions and court appearances, and manage trial support
- Excellent communication skills with clients, attorneys, staff, and other personnel to obtain or provide information as directed by attorney
Skills
- Highly proficient with use of business software including, but not limited to, MS Office Suite, Slack, Salesforce (preferred), Adobe, E-signature, Dropbox/Box
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and an independent self-starter
- Excellent communication skills with clients, attorneys, staff, and other personnel to obtain or provide information as directed by attorney
