Mission of the Role: Fitness Coordinator supports the company’s Mission, Values and Goals. The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for providing a positive work environment for all employees, the highest quality guest service and product. The Fitness Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the fitness department, including assisting with hiring, primary training, evaluating, and programming development, in collaboration with the Executive Director, Wellness.

Supports: Personal Trainers, SPOKEN programming and Group Exercise Instructor.

Essential Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
• Two- three years of management in hospitality/fitness managerial or wellness program, ideal.
• Experience in Business and Kinesiology or related field.
• Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
• Computer knowledge in Windows environment as well as prior experience with various PMS and POS systems.
• Commitment to the fitness industry.
• CPR, First Aid certified, AED, BA in Exercise Kinesiology or ACSM license.

• Proven ability to provide high quality customer service.
• Ability to multi-task, works independently and with a team, and performs detail-oriented functions.
• Professional and enthusiastic attitude. Ability to problem-solve and make key decisions.

• Availability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays as job dictates.
• Certified in Personal Trainer and Group Fitness

Desirable Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate in a second language.
• Four-year College or university program certificate in hospitality/fitness or related training.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure all Club and Spa staff supports Pyramid Global Hospitality Mission, Values and Goals.
• Ensure all Club and Spa policies and procedures are fully implemented in all departments, including but not limited to Standard Operating Procedures, Safety and Emergency and as outlined in the company’s Policies and Procedures Manual, People and Culture Procedures and Employee Handbook.
• Protect and enhance the value of all health club and spa assets through appropriate programs in repairs and maintenance, preventative maintenance, housekeeping, security, and capital budgeting process.

• Oversee the fitness department including aiding in hiring, primary department trainer, associate evaluating and programming collaboration, in partnership with the Executive Director.
• Implement fitness programs including strength training, cardio training, and wellness programs, in collaboration with Executive Director, Wellness.
• Oversee Group Exercise Room including class schedule, trainers and special programs using this area.
• Oversee the personal training program including on-going education, driving P.T. package sales, and keeping the gym floor organized and safe for users.
• Oversee the maintenance and cleaning of the weight room equipment including weight equipment and cardiovascular equipment.
• Working floor shifts as needed.

Secondary Job Functions:

• Perform other tasks associated as necessary to achieve the financial performance and goals of the company.
• Promote the company in industry related associations.

Key Relationships:

Internal: Front Desk Hosts, Club and Spa staff, FOM, Housekeeping, Executive Housekeeper, Reservations, Sales and Catering, Revenue Management, Food and Beverage, People and Culture, Accounting/Finance, Maintenance, Owner Representatives

External: Club and spa guests/ visitors, Hotel guests/visitors, main accounts, local and public authorities, and vendors/suppliers.

Essential Physical Abilities:

• Able to operate a computer, printer, and other office machinery.
• Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer 20-30% of the time.
• Able to conduct site visits (property tours) for visitors and potential clients.
• Able to clearly communicate by telephone, in person & via email in a professional manner.
