Job Location: Newport News, VA

At our Newport News program, we provide outpatient services specializing in psychiatric and substance use disorder care. We are currently seeking a dedicated provider to join our team at our inpatient facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to our clients.
• Consult with primary healthcare providers to ensure the physical healthcare needs of clients are met.
• Coordinate with medical staff from other providers, such as state and inpatient facilities.

Required Qualifications

Licensure, Education, & Experience:

• Active medical license in Virginia.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a substance use disorder treatment setting, with direct clinical training and work in the areas of substance use disorder treatment.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to problem-solve by gathering and analyzing information.
• Ability to handle crisis situations and react appropriately.
• Working knowledge of federal and state standards, as well as regulatory body standards.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. Regularly required activities include sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee is required to climb stairs, stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and seldom lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
