EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
QCELLS Enable is the EPC branch of Qcells for the Commercial, Industrial, Distributed Generation, and Small Utility Scale solar markets. Our mission is to provide world class design and installation of large-scale PV and ESS systems throughout the US. Our position as a leading module manufacturer means we can offer end-to-end solutions for project developers and asset managers. We are expanding our offerings and have several open positions currently in our Teaneck, New Jersey headquarters.
Position OverviewThe operator will provide equipment support to the Foreman/Lead, Site Superintendent & Regional Managerof the installation team and ensure the completion of installation of all solar arrays and solar systems for Commercial Properties. Operators are responsible for the basic daily maintenance and safe operation of all pieces of equipment on site
This position reports to the Site Superintendent. This position location will be remote and based on the project location. 100% travel required.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
  • Complete company trainings, certifications, and other essential company objectives
  • Attend all safety, quality, and production meetings.
  • Operate heavy machinery and specialized equipment, including cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, excavators, drills, skid-steer loaders, and aerial lifts, to lift, move, and position solar panels, mounting hardware, and other materials as needed.
  • Advise Leads and superintendents on equipment required to complete a task
  • Transport and stage modules, racking materials, and electrical equipment on site
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient use of any equipment on site
  • Digging and backfilling electrical trenches to engineering specifications
  • Leading and/or participating in load testing for solar foundations
  • Site grading activities
  • Site mowing activities
  • Perform gravel road maintenance
  • Report installed quantities to leads and superintendents
  • Maintain Safety, Quality and production standards per the direction of the Mechanical Lead and Project Superintendent.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as checking fluid levels, greasing moving parts, and cleaning air filters, to keep machinery in good working condition
  • Assist in driving steel piles or screw piles.
  • Transport Modules
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position 
Required Qualifications
  • Good attitude, eager, willing to learn, proactive.
  • OSHA 10 minimum, Osha 30 preferred
  • Competent person training for soils
  • Certifications on Off-road forklift, skid steer, excavator
  • Prior experience operating heavy machinery and equipment in a construction or industrial setting 2 years
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions in New York.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards.
  • Basic competency with email and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to prioritize work activity.
  • Ability to travel within New York State, up to 100% of the time.
  • Ability to work within a team and take direction from team leaders.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Driver's License & Clean Driving Record.

SALARY RANGE FOR POSITIONThe anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located traveling to different job sites, but with frequent visits to Teaneck, NJ is $ 36 - $46 per hour.The above-listed salary range is required by the New York Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Teaneck, NJ. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
EXAMPLES OF PHYSICAL DEMANDS 
  •  Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
  • Able to walk or move continuosuly while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
  • Requires repetitive movement.
