QCELLS Enable is the EPC branch of Qcells for the Commercial, Industrial, Distributed Generation, and Small Utility Scale solar markets. Our mission is to provide world class design and installation of large-scale PV and ESS systems throughout the US. Our position as a leading module manufacturer means we can offer end-to-end solutions for project developers and asset managers. We are expanding our offerings and have several open positions currently in our Teaneck, New Jersey headquarters.
Position OverviewThe Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing field operations, general
safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, commissioning, coordination with other
Superintendent and project leaders on the jobsite.
This position reports to the Director of Construction or another senior management
personnel that the Head of QCELLS Enable may designate. This position requires 100%
travel.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
The anticipated starting pay range of this position, which is to be located in New York, NY is $110,000.00 to $130,000.00 base salary per year.
The above-listed salary range is required by the New York Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in New York, New York. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

Essential Job Function & Responsibilities
- Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position; and
- Directs solar/construction personnel and/or installation subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Coordination of personnel, material, and equipment needed to meet schedules.
- Support the team with planning and utilization of proper means and methods for activities.
- Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action.
- Follow and implement the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental Policy.
- Identify welding certification, training and experience appropriate for assignment scope.
- Coordinate and implement resources and activities necessary to maintain a safe and quality execution.
- Assure all work undertaken is within approved scope boundaries and is in full compliance.
- Coordination with pile suppliers and racking vendors as needed
- Advise site teams and subcontractors on tooling & equipment required to complete task
- Identify testing required per projects scope of work
- Communication with engineering parties to meet commissioning & construction requirements
- Manage personnel needed to complete project assignment
- Communicate with Surveyor and understand surveying equipment
- Supervise, train and support drillers, pile driver operators, mechanical racking/module crews, subcontractors
- Coordination with material manager for all delivery staging and receiving
- 3 years of commercial or utility scale solar PV mechanical Foreman experience required.
- 2 years of commercial or utility scale solar PV mechanical Superintendent or Construction Management experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience supporting the constructions of major projects, preferably in the building of power stations or supply networks, or other utility-scale construction projects
- Experience with multiple racking manufacturers, subcontractors, pile driver manufacturers
- Willingness to travel and relocate from project to project.
- Experience with MS Project or comparable project management tools. preferred
- Experience with ProCore, preferred.
- Strong in Microsoft Office Suite
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience reviewing mechanical manuals of installation and design technical packages, understand top of pile designs.
- Assertive, able to cope with pressure, and maintain a team player attitude.
- Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
- Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
- May have to interact with Owner’s Field Representative and outside testing agencies.
- Experience operating construction equipment, pile drivers and GPS surveying equipment
- Knowledge of installation methods for the different mechanical systems in the industry
- Preventative Maintenance / Grease / Fuel / Warranty
- QA/QC Inspection
- Updating Drawings for as-builts

- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
- Able to walk or move continuosuly while carrying 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.) Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
