Job Objective
We are looking for a Lab Manager responsible for managing a team of technicians within a laboratory environment to support development teams on board re-work, modifications, part replacement and mechanical tasks. The main responsibility will be to manage the lab's daily work, supporting technician assistance to design engineering, lab maintenance and product assembly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage lab equipment, resources and electronic components
- Build test fixtures for power electronics prototypes
- Contribute to prototype development for power electronics
- Assist with testing of power electronics prototypes
- Perform rework of electronic boards down to 0402 size
- Implement wiring harnesses
- Keep lab organized and clean
- 10 years of hands-on experience managing a laboratory environment, including supervising technicians, overseeing daily operations, and providing support for design engineering, and lab maintenance
- Very high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Able to perform reworks of very small components under microscope or magnification
- Experienced with basic lab equipment: soldering/desoldering
- Experience with basic test equipment: meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies
- Power Electronics experience (in any of the areas of inverters/drives, EV high power high voltage electronics, electric traction industry (bus, locomotive) or EV battery systems)
- Experienced in R&D/prototyping labs focused on power electronics
