QDStaff is Hiring a Slot Math Services Engineer Near Las Vegas, NV

Join an established and growing Casino game creator known for product innovation in land-based games as a Math Services Software Engineer.

You will work closely with game designers and mathematicians to implement behavior of games based on requirements and market research.

Position Responsibilities

Will be primarily responsible for taking the math design for a title and optimizing that math for specific casino markets while writing code that will allow it to run on a gaming machine. You will create the deliverables for both demonstration and deployed live games.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Solicit, define and implement game features and mathematical models based on market experience and input from studio producers and domain experts.
  • Use and improve on the methodology of the game creation process - create new tools, suggest process improvements, and document and support any new or existing deliverables.
  • Conduct programming simulations on the game math models; summarize and analyze the results in a way that will yield maximum insight and help with decision-making.
  • Optimize final finite math.
  • Maintain and improve design standards - ensure all designs and deliverables are maintainable/upgradable, formally reviewed, and documented.
  • Track casino holds for games when needed.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Write well-structured, well-documented, maintainable scripts and programs in C , C#, and Python in order to engineer math engines for electronic gaming machines.
  • Extremely detail oriented and comfortable taking a mathematical approach to problem solving.
  • Able to work in a professional team environment and understand the importance of applying process to ensure quality.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment. This includes strong communication skills, as well as the ability to identify any problems or roadblocks and work through them with other team members to ensure the quickest and most reliable solution.

Experience & Education

  • Post-secondary education in Math or Software engineering or equivalent experience
  • Experience programming games or simulations
  • Experience using or testing game math models
  • Exposure to casino slot math is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Excel
