Position Title : Farm Maintenance Supervisor

Wage : $45,000 / year

Farm Maintenance Supervisor Responsibilities :

• Operate and service farm machinery, vehicles and tools
• Ensure farm vehicles and trailers are clean and road-ready
• Repair and maintain farm equipment and buildings based on defined schedule and / or as required
• Care for established lawns by mowing, mulching, trimming, and edging around flower beds, walks, and barn; Maintain lawn irrigation systems
• Prepare soil for planting; Apply insecticides; Monitor and control pests and weeds; Transplant shrubs and trees as needed.
• Fix and maintain fencing – replace broken components and paint as needed.
• Snow blowing as seasonally required
• Maintain HVAC filters in all buildings and maintain all farm lighting
• Organize farm equipment, tools, and the maintenance area to be conducive to effective use and present a professional image
• Maintain security and use logs for the fuel depot
• Coordinate service appointments when requirements are outside of individual skills
• Maintain cleanliness of the barn areas following all safety and sanitation rules and guidelines

Requirements for Farm Maintenance Supervisor :

• Ability to perform manual labor for long periods of time
• Knowledge of farming practices and machinery
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
• Flexibility to work long hours, weekends and holidays when necessary
• English required, bilingual is a plus
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
