We are searching for a dynamic and experienced EHS Training Director to start at the basics of regulatory training, operational knowledge, skills, and ability training, competency assessments. And eventually will move to supervisor/manager/leader soft skill training. The ideal candidate for this role is for someone who wants to build, develop, deploy and see the fruits of their hard work pay off.

Position requires 25% - 30% travel to our depots in the US.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive competency-based training program for personnel, ensuring alignment with industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuous analysis and identification or competency requirements
  • Develop and implement training schedules and programs to ensure successful completion of the competency-based training program and manage all record keeping within the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Extensive knowledge of various teaching and learning methods.
  • Liaise with Third Party training providers to ensure training is available for operations and staff and that third party training is loaded into LMS for training and competency tracking.
  • Oversee the verification process for the training program, ensuring that training effectiveness is regularly assessed and improved, and that all personnel are competent to perform their roles safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular training needs analyses to identify gaps in skills and knowledge within the operations team and develop and implement training programs to address these gaps.
  • Active engagement with organization; deliver training, train in-house trainers, and continuously coach and evaluate delivery of EHS trainers.
  • Provide active support and act as a key point of contact for training and competency-related issues.
  • Develop and communicate training and competency metrics.
  • Monitors training personnel records to ensure employees have met all company training requirements for company and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain basic understanding of compliance codes.
  • Assist with preparation for compliance audits.
  • Manage key operations practices, including the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures, to ensure that structured ways of working are implemented and adhered to.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organizational Psychology or relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience in training and development in an industrial industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and HAZWOPER, RCRA regulations a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of traditional and modern training methods.
  • Experience organizing training activities in a corporate environment.
  • Hands-on experience with project management and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
