Job Title: MIG Welder Location: Richmond, VA Duration: 3-month contract (potential for permanent position based on performance and company needs) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Hourly Wage: Starting at $19.00/hr. or higher based on experience Benefits: Comprehensive insurance coverage provided (Medical, Dental, Vision, etc.) Qualdoc is seeking skilled MIG Welders to assist an industrial manufacturer in Richmond, VA. The role entails welding various metal and steel components using specialized equipment. Duties include utilizing tools like straight edges, combination squares, and rulers, and fabricating according to blueprints and shop drawings. Duties:
Adjusts and utilizes torches, plasma cutters, and/or grinders accurately by engineering diagrams, regardless of standard or non-standard positions.
Executes welding tasks in vertical, flat, horizontal, or overhead orientations.
Utilizes basic manual tools like tape measures, squares, and clamps to ensure accurate weld application and assess weld quality.
Inspects workpieces for defects and ensure they meet specifications.
Completes welding of components previously tacked by experienced welders.
Prepares and refines metal components through grinding or sanding.
Operates material handling equipment and overhead cranes/hoists.
Manages material movement and ensures proper storage.
Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including welding helmet, gloves, protective apron, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and respirator as needed.
Conducts MIG welding tasks and some TIG welding as required.
You Must Have:
Minimum of 2-5 years of MIG welding experience
Possession of a High School Diploma or GED
Previous experience in manufacturing
Proficient in reading shop drawings, blueprints, and engineering diagrams
Competent in using tape measures, rulers, and other measurement tools
Strong mathematical skills
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with TIG welding is considered advantageous
Preferential experience with ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards
