Job Title: Registered Nurse - Post Surgical Unit (PSU)
Job Description:
Within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing, the Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Surgical Unit (PSU) applies the nursing process to the care of patients. The RN teaches patients and significant others, documents patient care in the medical record, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to effectively coordinate overall patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care to patients within the PSU, following the Oregon State Board of Nursing guidelines.
- Teach patients and their families about their healthcare needs.
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Willing to train on Acute Care Hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Must possess a BSN or ADN/ASN degree.
- Recent (within the past 5 years) 3 to 5 years of acute care nursing experience.
- Recent (within the past 5 years) acute care hospital experience is preferred.
- Must have a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at employment.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- PALs certification is a plus.
- Rehab/LTC/SNF experience is considered as well.
