Company Description: Quality Youth Services (QYS) is licensed through the state of Utah to provide Proctor Care (temporary foster care) for youth in the custody of the Division of Juvenile Justice System and the Division of Child and Family Services. Our youth clientele consist of teens ranging in age from 12-21 who are either stepping down from a higher level of care (i.e. group home) or entering the system for the first time.

Job Description: Seeking part-time Youth Mentor ( with future full time potential) to provide individualized supervision and transportation of primarily TEENS in foster/proctor care that may have behavioral and/or mental health challenges. There may be some opportunities to work with children younger than 12. Trackers provide transportation using their own vehicle. Must be available for hours during the week/weekend.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain helping relationship emphasizing youth accountability. Complete required documentation.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Assist and participate in the coordination of youth activities and groups as needed.
• Provide staff relief as needed; subject to be on call and be available to provide staff assistance.
• Transport multiple youth daily using your own vehicle to mental health, doctor and dental appointments, school, work, etc.
• Enforce and comply with appropriate boundaries with youth.
• 3 or more years since Substance Abuse Treatment completion.

Qualifications:

• Must be over 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
• Must have reliable transportation, registration, and maintain state mandated car insurance.
• Insurance Liability Limits must be $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.
• Must have personal computer/laptop and internet access.
• Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Possess good written and verbal communication, mentoring and computer skills.
• Ability to assist with goal oriented casework as a member of a team.
• Ability to manage conflict and perform well in crisis situations.
• Ability to confront clients with problematic behaviors and set limits.
• Must have late afternoon/evening availability during the week and some weekends.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
