JOB DESCRIPTION:

The State of Michigan is looking for a full-time System Analyst 6. This is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite from day one in either Lansing, MI or Detroit, MI, depending on your location. Applicants must be within a 2-hour commute of either Lansing or Detroit.

This System Analyst position will support LEO E & T workforce development applications, One Stop Management Information System (OSMIS), OSMIS Dashboard, Career Explorer, Michigan Adult Education Reporting System (MAERS) and Information Management, Performance, and Customer Tracking (IMPACT).

JOB DUTIES:

• Requirement gathering, business process analysis/improvement, requirements management, and software testing; Assess As Is and To Be processes and document gaps; collect end-user requirements for improving business processes and software via interviews, focus groups, and other stakeholder discussions.
• Categorize/segment similar requirements and create additional requirements that address client pain points.
• Maintain up-to-date requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, test plans (in Excel, word docs, Microsoft Azure), and run reports on the same to inform management discussions.
• Facilitate planning and requirements meetings, understand, and create solutions to improve user experience, agile product development support; participate in Sprint ceremonies.
• Collaborate with the product development team to translate requirements into technical specifications for the proposed solution; design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
• Maintain reusable scripts, technical documentation, and specifications; develop user stories and initial wireframes to guide the architecture of the proposed solution; develop software test plans.
• Participate in regression testing, quality assurance testing, user acceptance testing and conduct necessary sessions/focus groups with users to capture feedback on functionality being developed within each agile sprint; translate user feedback into refined requirements for the development team.
• Serve as liaison between client business users and the development team, communicating and interpreting requirements and technical solutions.
• Collaborate to elicit new product ideas and improve existing solutions.
• Program management documentation support, including developing high-quality presentations for client meetings.
• Participate in team and customer meetings, documenting notes and action items.
• Basic knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), Structured Query Language (SQL), and Microsoft products Word, Excel, and Visio.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Works under general supervision; typically reports to a project manager.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a System/Business Analyst conducting Joint Application Design (JAD) sessions with Customers and requirement gatherings.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in software testing.
• Minimum 1 year of RDBMS/SQL experience.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Experience in Agile/Scrum.
• Experience in SAP BO is a plus.
