Day Hab - Supportive Employment Specialist position is responsible for carrying out programming at volunteer/paid sites within the community and at the adult day program serving individuals with autism.

Experience: At least one year experience as Job Coach, Direct Support Professional (DSP), aide or paraprofessional or have worked children or adults with autism in a behavioral program. Training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred but not required.

Education: B.A. or B.S. degree preferred in special Education, psychology or social work related field.

Hours / Reporting: Full Time; 40 hours / week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures the safety and well being of each individual participant designated to be under your supervision and care.
• Provides daily transportation of participants, as needed to and from Job sites.

• Handles and documents any behavioral crisis that may occur during the day program and/or at job sites.
• Follows data collection procedures for all skill acquisition, functional behavior assessment procedures and subsequent behavior reduction plans.
• Writes and reviews participant and program related documents (e.g., Progress Reports, Skill Acquisition Programs, Task Analysis data sheets, Book reviews).

• Conducts IOA, records, and graphs data of participants’ performance for skill acquisition, maintenance programs and behavior reduction plans.
• Attends all staff training as required.
• Implements behavior reduction procedures for each participant as written in his/her plan.
• Performs other job-related duties as designated.
• Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Quest Autism Programs, Inc. and to its code of ethics.
• Ensures participants are treated with respect and dignity.

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Computer proficient in a Microsoft environment.
• Demonstrates expertise in developing and implementing ABA programs.
• Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds including, but not limited to, individuals and their families, community members and funding source representatives.
• Must be highly motivated, self directed and take initiative and have the ability to learn quickly.

Requirements:

• Valid N.J. driver’s license with a clear Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with Quest and Quest insurance company standards.
• Provide transportation via own vehicle to community job /volunteer sites and activities. Must maintain and provide annual proof of required dollar amount by QAP policy and insurance on personal vehicle.
• Physical exam and Mantoux skin test or Chest X-ray documented on Quest form with clearance to begin work.
• Clear criminal background, as well as any additional background checks as designated by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
