Our client, a well-established packaging company in Peoria, IL is looking to add an Operations Manager to their team. An individual in this role will oversee all shop operations and production while reporting directly to the President of the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with other Executive Management Team members to develop and implement new plans and policies for the company.
• Works in partnership with the Executive Management Team and Shop Supervisors to identify productivity problems along with proper resolutions or improvements.
• Provides leadership to plan, direct, and continuously improve business and shop processes.
• Oversees all shop operations and production.
• Negotiates performance goals with customer and is responsible for the performance.
• Performs a variety of complex functions associated with the organization of work throughout the shop.
• Communicates information from the front office to the shop floor.
• Strives for maximum efficiency in shop operations.
• Oversees the Shop Supervisor responsible for maintaining and enforcing safety programs and procedures.
• Responsible for the creation of a budget for items related to shop operations.
• Maintains and analyzes reports, charts, progress, and trends of quality production and delivery.
• Upholds and enforces performance guidelines.
• Assists in preparing quotations for new jobs for both current and prospective customers.

Supervisory Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manages and supervises the Shop Supervisors.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work to subordinates.
• Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines direct reports as appropriate.
• Addresses personnel complaints and works to resolve them.
• Aids Human Resources by interviewing, hiring, and training direct reports.

Work Conditions:

• Must be willing to work 40 hours per week.
• Work is done primarily in an office environment; however, much time is also spent on the warehouse floor.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 5 years or more of progressive experience in manufacturing operations.
