Job Overview:
We are looking for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to perform on-site clinic and surgical anesthesiology services, including patients undergoing general surgery, orthopedic including joint replacement, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, urology, podiatry, minor vascular, gynecology, endoscopy, dental/oral and ophthalmologic operations to eligible beneficiaries of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the range of Anesthesia services within the Surgical Careline, as would be provided in a state-of-the art civilian medical treatment facility and standard of care shall be of the quality , meeting or exceeding currently recognized national standards as established by American Society of Anesthesiologist (ASA) Guidelines. The CRNA is accountable to provide the most effective delivery of quality anesthetic care for a diverse veteran population and broad range of situations throughout the medical center. The CRNA's shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics/surgeries as documented by physical presence in the clinic or operating room at the scheduled start time. Off-hours coverage must be available on-call during all hours when the facility is closed, including evenings, weekends and holidays. On-Call CRNA must be available at all times for phone consultations with VA providers and CRNA's. They also shall provide primary coverage for all patients in the surgical intensive care, short stay unit, acute and chronic pain management services, diagnostic trans esophageal echocardiography for medical and surgical patients, and emergency airway management. CRNA's shall provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and, in the clinic, setting if the patient can report to the outpatient clinic. All these services will be performed with the highest level of care to our veteran population with a standard of quality care that will meet or exceed currently recognized national by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Guidelines.
