Summary

Under the supervision of the Production Manager and the direction of the Cell Team Lead, the Handrailing Fabricator will be a member of a cross functional Fabrication Cell. The Fabrication Cell is responsible for all welding and polishing of handrailing systems. The Handrailing Fabricator will be responsible for all the needed fabrication of handrailing systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of functions and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Plan and determine job priorities based on provided schedules.
• Utilize prints, job orders, and laser projections to fit-up handrailing weldments to specifications.
• Determine weld process best suited to application.
• Fabricate by cutting, prepping, and welding various metals.
• Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded. Set up, assemble and tack weld parts.
• Straighten and manipulate weldments to be within provided tolerances.
• Assist other team members within cell with any needed tasks.
• Communicate job challenges to appropriate parties.
• Work with upstream cells to help coordinate work.
• Maintain an organized and safe working environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education and Experience

1. High school or equivalent diploma is required. 
2. Technical degree in welding or related field a plus.
3. Strong math skills in geometry and trigonometry.
4. Experience in welded stainless steel fabrication, blueprint reading, and fit-up welding.
5. TIG experience acquired through 3-5 years of work experience.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to read, draw, analyze, and interpret specifications and blueprints.
2. 3-5 years’ experience TIG welding stainless steel.
3. 3-5 years’ experience troubleshooting weld process challenges.
4. Ability to accurately scan labor, check labor and provide corrections.
5. Ability to read and write English and follow verbal and written instructions.
6. Basic ability to measure (using ruler, tapes, height gauge, micrometer) and count accurately.
7. Ability to operate overhead cranes, aerial lift, forklift, hand trucks, and various machines.
8. 3-5 years’ experience operating pneumatic hand tools.
9. Ability to work within a cross-functional team.
