Basic understanding of immunology/pathology

The Pathology Associate Scientist works closely with Senior Scientist and/or pathology associate to conduct scientific research as part of a team effort.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitates Human Biological Samples compliance and laboratory establishment
- Capable of executing histology tasks including grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining is provided with opportunities for independent design and development of assays and results with minimal guidance.
- Use and application of immunohistochemistry principles, theories, concepts and techniques and helps develop new methods, technologies and processes when necessary for project advancement.
- Learns to exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Responsible for the proper and effective conduct of technically demanding immunohistochemical and tissue/cell-based experiments.
- Prepares precise technical summaries, protocols and all appropriate documentation of experiments in electronic laboratory notebooks.
