Job Purpose

The Director of Business Development will be focused on gasoline dealer accounts, with primary responsibility to drive the growth of R. H. Foster’s gasoline distribution network. Will identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with gasoline dealers, ensuring our products are available and competitive in the market. Role will be involved in strategic planning, sales forecasting, market analysis, and executing initiatives to expand our presence in targeted regions.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential areas for expansion and growth opportunities.
  • Analyze competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market trends to develop effective business strategies.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing gasoline dealers.
  • Identify and engage with potential new gasoline dealers to expand our distribution network.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with gasoline dealers, ensuring favorable terms for both parties.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business development strategies with overall company goals.
  • Develop innovative approaches to attract new gasoline dealers and differentiate our offerings in the market.

Sales and Promotion:

  • Develop sales proposals and presentations to pitch R. H. Foster’s products and services to gasoline dealers.
  • Coordinate promotional activities and campaigns to drive product awareness and sales.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement or optimization.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct reports.

Qualifications

Must possess a strong understanding of the gasoline distribution market, including industry trends, competitor landscape, and regulatory requirements. Have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key stakeholders. Be a strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and a track record of achieving sales targets. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Have a willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours as needed.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.

Proven experience in business development, sales, or marketing, preferably in the gasoline distribution or petroleum industry.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
