R L Global Logistics is Hiring a Director of Technology Near Ocala, FL
Director of Technology responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work closely with the leadership team to understand the overall vision and offer strategic ideas that meet the organizations needs
- Provide creative recommendations and cost analysis for enhancements, integrations and implementation of various technology platforms
- Coordinate and direct project management of IT related system implementations and technical projects in alignment with organizational goals
- Develop and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by executive management
- Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
- Build relationships and collaborate with business units to define areas of improvement and deliver resolutions that streamline information and processes
- Evaluate and identity the need for upgrades, configurations and new systems; make recommendations based on findings to executive leadership
- Maintain knowledge of the latest technologies and exploring new trends and how they can be applied to current and future business needs
- Lead, manage and develop a team by coaching, mentoring and offering guidance and expertise in complex situations and technical challenges
- Develop and implement change management policies and strategies to reduce risk and minimize negative impact to the business
- Provide project management of IT related system implementations and technical projects in alignment with organizational goals
- Coordinate tasks, events, and deadlines with the business, IT department, and outside vendors for all aspects of standard systems development life cycle
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience with progressive responsibility in technology management and operations
- Bachelor Degree in business, computer science, information systems management, IT Transportation Management, or equivalent work experience
- Must have excellent communication skills and comfortability presenting to all levels of the organization including the leadership team, board members and ownership
- Ability to develop strong relationships and provide exceptional customer service within a fast-paced, multi-faceted organization
- Experience building KPIS, data metrics, data warehousing, and historical trending
- Previous experience in the Logistics, Supply Chain and/or Transportation space a plus
