Job Title: Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Estimator Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Steel and Miscellaneous Metals Estimator to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be crucial in the pre-construction phase, ensuring precise cost estimates for structural steel and miscellaneous metal components.
Responsibilities: Prepare detailed material take-offs based on structural and architectural drawings. Analyze project specifications to determine required steel and miscellaneous metals. Obtain competitive quotes from vendors as necessary. Develop comprehensive cost estimates, considering material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. Prepare proposals and bids for potential projects. Participate in value engineering discussions to identify cost-saving opportunities. Maintain accurate project cost records and monitor project budgets. Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural steel and miscellaneous metals estimating. Proven ability to interpret complex architectural and structural drawings. Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes and industry standards. Proficiency in steel estimating software (e.g., Strumis, Tekla PowerFab) is advantageous. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
