Job Title: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 12 Months
Type: W2 Only
Job Summary: As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems. You will work closely with our data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure the availability, accuracy, and reliability of our data. Your role will involve utilizing a variety of technologies and platforms, including SQL, NoSQL, ETL tools, BI tools, cloud services, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and workflows for data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Manage and maintain databases, including SQL (Oracle, MsSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
- Implement and manage data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain data solutions using AWS cloud services.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for all data engineering processes.
- Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
- Utilize Power BI and Tableau to create interactive and insightful dashboards and reports.
- Implement and manage Snowflake for scalable data warehousing solutions.
- Develop and consume REST APIs for data integration and extraction.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing of data engineering solutions.
- Ensure data quality and consistency through comprehensive testing and validation processes.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging data engineering trends and technologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with Oracle, MsSQL, and MySQL databases.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools and processes.
- Experience with NoSQL databases.
- Expertise in using Power BI and Tableau for data visualization.
- Proficiency in Snowflake for data warehousing.
- Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., S3, RDS, Redshift).
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience with REST API development and integration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
- Knowledge of data security best practices.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics).
