Job Title: Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer with over 15 years of proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex network systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to drive strategic network initiatives. This role is critical for maintaining the integrity, performance, and security of our company's network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Network Design and Implementation:

   • Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of high-performance network solutions.
   • Develop and maintain network infrastructure standards, ensuring scalability and reliability.
   • Design and implement WAN, LAN, WLAN, and cloud networking solutions.
   • Oversee the integration of new technologies and network services to meet organizational needs.

2. Network Management and Optimization:

   • Manage and optimize the performance and security of all network systems.
   • Monitor network performance, conduct regular assessments, and implement improvements.
   • Develop and enforce policies for network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and access controls.

3. Leadership and Strategy:

   • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the network engineering team.
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business objectives.
   • Lead network-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards.

4. Problem Resolution and Support:

   • Oversee the resolution of complex network issues, acting as an escalation point for the team.
   • Conduct root cause analysis for network failures and implement preventive measures.
   • Provide advanced support for network-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on operations.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, processes, and policies.
   • Prepare regular reports on network performance, incidents, and upgrades.
   • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements through thorough documentation practices.

6. Vendor Management and Collaboration:

   • Manage relationships with network equipment and service vendors.
   • Evaluate and select network hardware, software, and services to meet organizational needs.
   • Coordinate with external partners and vendors for network projects and support.

7. Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

   • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the network remains cutting-edge.
   • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance network efficiency and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Extensive experience with network design, implementation, and management in large, complex environments.
• Certifications:
  • Advanced certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP) are a plus.

Technical Skills

• Networking Protocols: In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and other networking protocols.
• Security Technologies: Expertise in firewall management, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network access control.
• Cloud Networking: Experience with cloud networking solutions from major providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Tools and Platforms: Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, Cisco Prime).
• Hardware and Software: Strong experience with networking hardware (e.g., routers, switches, load balancers) and software solutions from leading vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet).
