Principal, Credit Portfolio Manager
JOB PURPOSE : The Principal, Credit Portfolio Manager will be responsible for supporting various strategic initiatives related directly to the Credit Cards strategic plans. We are looking for candidates with a high sense of urgency and a demonstrated ability to deliver fast, measurable business results. This person is stimulated by challenges and is ready to engage at a fast pace. This role will work closely with the operating leaders and key members of management related to the planning process and other activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The Credit Business Team is responsible for driving acquisition and engagement by developing differentiated products, benefits, offers, and Omnichannel
  • The role will assist in advancing the Credit Card business by becoming a deep expert in a set of products and services and establishing a strong data driven approach to strategic decisions.
  • Compile, analyze and interpret data to make strategic and tactical recommendations or decisions pertaining to sales/product performance.
  • Responsible for defining the business questions and providing insights to improve business performance.
  • Supports the maintenance of existing products and/or may lead in the development and launch of less complex, new products with channel partners.
  • Uses resources to gather analytics, competitive intelligence, and member information to support formulation of product strategy.
  • Develops recommendations to launch new products or sales strategies and the evaluation and decision to buy/build or partner.
  • Acts as product SME on features and services and collaborates with business partners to provide recommendations.
  • Partners with digital teams on how to effectively use sales guides and provides education on products and services, including new offerings and improvements to existing features.
  • Provides support in developing, editing, and distributing product communications.
  • Conducts research on external market trends/design changes, financials, member information and/or transaction data for assigned products.
  • Holds responsibility for coordinating with relevant control partners (to include Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management) to ensure product offerings are crafted, implemented, and managed in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
  • The ideal candidate will have a track-record of achieving meaningful outcomes within the financial services industry and / or customer facing businesses.
Job Requirements:
  • This person is customer-obsessed and think end-to-end about customer experiences across the physical and digital landscape.
  • To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a deep analytical background, the ability to use data to identify creative solutions/opportunities, and strong communication skills needed to simplify complex problems.
  • 4 years of data and analytics experience
  • Formulates product/sales strategy recommendations based on analysis of profitability, competitiveness, and sales performance for the product life cycle.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Statistics, or related discipline; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 6 years of relevant industry experience in Finance/Accounting Operations or Financial Services
  • With respect to industry, qualified candidates might come from a variety of retail or consumer products companies. Experience in more than one business model, and more than one corporate culture, is highly desired.
Additional Requirements:
  • 2 years of business/product management, or similar strategic management experience
  • 1 year of Data Visualization experience as a user or Developer (i.e., Tableau or other)
  • Experienced in market research to build product roadmap, make product decisions, and iterate rapidly.
  • Knowledge of applicable product related regulations, and risk and compliance requirements
  • Experience in Consumer Product analytics including analyzing customer segmentation, customer behaviors, and trends and delivering data driven strategic recommendations.
  • Demonstrates expert skills in mathematical and statistical techniques and approaches used to drive fact-based decision-making.
  • Ability to work in office Monday through Friday
