JOB DESCRIPTION:

Radiant Smiles is a beautiful, new dental practice that is committed to providing a positive and valued dental care experience for our patients. We are looking for an outgoing, friendly, team-oriented, and hard-working dental assistant who is looking to grow their career.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Delivers direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established dental assisting procedures.
• Prepares and maintains treatments rooms and equipment including cleaning and sterilizing instruments and burs, setting up trays, and cleaning treatment rooms.
• Provides instrumentation to treatment area; positioning instruments for dentist's access; suctioning; passing instruments.
• Provides materials by selecting, mixing, and placing materials on instruments and in the patient's mouth.
• Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing x-rays.
• Prepares impressions and/or models and coordinates all aspects of lab cases.
• Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.
• Documents dental care services by charting in patient records.
• Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
• Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or GED. Post high school courses in a dental or medical related arena preferred.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE:

• Current CPR certification and certification in Dental Assisting
• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) if applying for RDA position
• Dental Radiology (X-Ray) certification

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 1 yr

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
